| Resumen: | El objetivo de este estudio es describir las similitudes y diferencias en la traducción de referentes culturales (RC) en el subtitulado interlingüístico (SI) y en el subtitulado para sordos (SpS). Para esta finalidad, la unidad de trabajo utilizada fue la película Toy Story 4. La metodología se inició identificando y extrayendo los RC según la categorización temática de Igareda (2011). A partir de la lista de candidatos a RC se cotejó con corpus de referencia conformado por diccionarios y se tuvieron en cuenta las definiciones. El análisis se realizó contrastando la categorización temática de los RC presentes en el SI y el SpS. Los resultados mostraron predominancia por la conservación de la categorización temática de la mayoría de los RC presentes en el SpS. Sin embargo, la categorización del universo social presentó una disminución en el número de RC en el SpS. Se concluyó que hubo más similitudes que diferencias en las características culturales de los RC, lo que indica un alto nivel de transculturalidad. |
| Abstract: | The aim of this research is to describe the similarities and differences in the translation of cultural references (CR) in interlinguistic subtitling (IS) and in subtitling for the deaf and hard-of-hearing (SDH). To achieve this objective, the movie Toy Story 4 was used as work unit. The methodology was carried out first by identifying and extracting the CRs using the thematic categorization (TC) of Igareda (2011). Then, the list of CR candidates was created, and a reference corpus conformed by dictionaries was used to confirm the cultural properties of the candidates. Later, the TC was used again to categorize the CRs, but now taking into account the definitions. Based on the list of the CRs extracted from the script, the CRs in the IS were identified and their cultural properties were confirmed with a reference corpus, they were also categorized using the TC. The same procedure was followed to obtain the CRs in the SDH, but now based on the CRs obtained from the IS. The analysis was done by contrasting the TC of the CRs present in the IS and the SDH. The results obtained showed the predominance of the conservation of the TC in most RCs of the SDH. However, the Social Universe Category showed a decrease in the number of CRs in the SDH. It was concluded that there were more similarities than differences in the TC of the CRs of IS and SDH which can indicate a high level of transculturality |
